About Me

Who am I? Many people have their different perceptions of me and I want to explain myself. Most people may think that I am quiet, shy, or even stuck up. But I am totally the opposite. I am Jasmine Aaliyah Evans. I am currently 17 years old. I was born on January 22nd 2005 to my parents Samuel Evans and Christa Evans. My favorite color is lavender. My favorite things to do are dance, sing, eat, sleep and make new experiences with friends and family. I am mostly an insider and like my own company, but I am very social and friendly. Some may even say that I am bubbly. I have two siblings, Jae and Shandria Evans and one nephew Jaevann Evans.

I have a very strong support system and I am grateful for each person in my life. I am soon to graduate from Aquinas College “Class of 2023”. For my future, I plan to be a cosmetologist and open my own business in cosmetology. My dream school is Aveda Institute located in Davie, Florida. My personality, in my opinion, is the best thing about me. I have a happy soul. I am caring, jovial, funny, and some may say a bit “off my rockers”. I am the type of person to always give people the benefit of the doubt. I am the type of person to always be there for others. More positive traits that I have are honest, loyal, trustworthy, dependable, open-minded and much more. Though there are various negative traits about me as well. I tend to shut down when I have a problem, I tend to often isolate myself, sometimes moody, quiet, I tend to handle my problems on my own, I don't like the assistance from others unless asked for and I can also get distant. Though these traits are there, all together I am a good person, and most of all a child of God.

Career path

My life after high school is something I have dreamed of for about 3 years now. A lot of people do not take it seriously and have told me that I should choose another path because this path is not always stable or it can be as successful as you may want it, however, I strongly feel that this path will be the peak in my success. This path that I speak so highly about is a path in Cosmetology and Ethology. I plan to achieve certification as well as a license in those vocational fields at Aveda Institute, located in South Florida, or BTVI which is located in Nassau, Bahamas. Additionally, I would like to achieve a degree in business administration. I want to attend a brilliant institution to advance my career opportunities in business.

To further my advantage to obtain these certifications, I am enrolled in our school’s Cosmetology and Office Practice electives. I am also in our school’s Business Club. These electives are now helping and steering me toward the path I paved for myself. My vision is to open my own business in Cosmetology and become successful in doing something I love. But in order for me to accomplish this, I have to start from the bottom and eventually make it to the top. Even though in order to achieve these goals there would have to be a lot of sacrifices, they are sacrifices that I am willing to take. As the scripture says in Ecclesiastes 9:11, “The race is not given to the swift or to the strong but to the one who endures to the end”.
