After graduating from Aquinas College, one of my dreams is to become an entrepreneur. I am planning to open my own business and become self-employed. I am also interested in the fashion industry. To help me accomplish my goals I have a few options available. One option is to stay in Nassau and attend The University of The Bahamas (UB) and get a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (B.B.A.) in Management. This is a three year program offering courses such as entrepreneurship, accounting and marketing. Another option is the Fashion Production Program in Nassau, at BTVI (Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute). This program at BTVI offers courses in garment making, machinery and pattern making to name a few. This program certificates for the one year program and diplomas for the two year program. If I decide to leave Nassau, my other option is to attend college in Toronto, Canada, my second home. I am also interested in attending Seneca College in Toronto. This school offers a Fashion Business program (F.B.A.). This program is three years and will help develop the skills in buying, product development, marketing, selling and retail operations. Seneca College even has a retail learning lab to give hands-on experience. Whichever program I choose, I hope it will help me to achieve my goal of becoming a self-employed business owner.
